Patrick Witt, executive director of the President’s Council of Advisors for Digital Assets, announced his departure from the White House last week and will return to the private sector. As of October 18, no successor has been publicly named for the role, creating a key vacancy within the administration’s digital asset policy team. Witt stepped into the leadership position after serving as deputy to Bo Hines, who was the council’s first executive director. He played a central role in the administration’s negotiations surrounding the Digital Asset Market CLARITY Act, an effort to define a federal framework for cryptocurrency regulation.
