Stake News Today is an independent news desk. Stake.com and Stake.us news is spread across trade titles, local papers and business wires, and so is the US legal picture. We put it in one place, next to the crypto market it depends on.

How the news gets here

Every ten minutes we check a fixed list of 27 sources. For gambling: GamblingNews, Casino.org, iGaming.org, iGaming Business, Gambling Insider, SBC News, SBC Americas, Focus Gaming News, PokerNews, Legal Sports Report, Sports Handle and CDC Gaming Reports. For crypto: CoinDesk, Cointelegraph, The Block, Decrypt, Bitcoin Magazine, CryptoSlate, CryptoPotato, U.Today, Bitcoinist and NewsBTC. We also run Google News searches for Stake, US gambling and crypto. Each story is sorted into a section. Promo-code pages, betting tips, casino reviews and paid "presale" posts are filtered out.

When several outlets report the same story, we show it once and list everyone who covered it. A story carried by several independent newsrooms is more likely to be accurate than one carried by a single site.

Story pages show the headline, the publisher's own summary and a credit linking to the original report.

Reader articles

The Community section carries pieces written by registered readers. An editor reads every one before it goes live, and the author's name is on it.
