Democrats’ Senate win has put Sen. Elizabeth Warren in line to lead the Banking Committee, where the CLARITY Act could face a new committee review if it does not pass before Jan. 3. Warren is the committee’s top Democrat. The Democratic caucus has not formally assigned leadership posts, so her chairmanship is not settled. The current Congress remains under Republican control until the new Congress convenes. Sen. Sherrod Brown, who chaired the Banking Committee from 2021 to 2025, is returning to the Senate after winning Ohio’s election Tuesday, Nov. 3.
