Tesla CEO Elon Musk described annual output of 1 million Optimus 3 robots and 10 million Optimus 4 robots as aspirations on July 22, 2026, without giving a timeline for reaching either level. “I think Optimus will be the biggest product ever,” Musk said. He also described Optimus as Tesla’s hardest product to scale in manufacturing because everything on the robot was new. Tesla designed its first-generation Fremont line for annual capacity of 1 million robots. That figure describes the line’s design capacity, not its actual output.
