Thariq Leaves Anthropic After More Than a Year Working on Claude Code

Thariq announced Saturday, Oct. 24, that he had left Anthropic after more than a year working on Claude Code, the company's coding tool. He said he plans to take a break before starting something new. By September, Anthropic engineers were making more than 30,000 code merges a day, while Claude wrote most of the code entering the company's codebase, as described in earlier coverage of Anthropic's engineering output .
