CXMT’s Global DRAM Ambitions Face Supply, U.S. Tool Constraints

CXMT is positioning its DRAM business for wider overseas use as tightening memory supply supports expansion, but U.S. restrictions could limit the Chinese chipmaker’s access to some production tools. The company’s global DRAM share by bit shipments could reach 14% in 2027, compared with 9% last year and 12% in 2026. China alone represents more than 20% of global DRAM demand, giving CXMT a large domestic base as it seeks additional markets. Chinese computers, mobile devices and consumer electronics are frequently sold overseas, creating another route for CXMT memory to reach international customers.
