Revolut has secured Gibraltar authorization for a crypto unit it plans to use in international markets, giving the company a regulated base for digital asset services beyond its existing U.K. and European operations. The Gibraltar Financial Services Commission, the territory’s financial regulator, authorized Revolut Global Digital Assets Limited on Oct. 19 as a distributed ledger technology provider. Its permission covers transmitting and executing virtual asset orders, holding virtual assets for customers and providing staking services. Revolut has more than 80 million retail customers and over 16 million crypto users worldwide.
