Clark County aviation officials outlined a sweeping modernization plan for Harry Reid International Airport this week. The multibillion‑dollar overhaul will expand capacity, replace aging infrastructure, and prepare Las Vegas for continued visitor growth and major events. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Clark County Aviation Director James Chrisley recently told the Clark County Commission that much of the airport was built for the passenger volumes and aircraft of the 1990s and early 2000s, saying that Las Vegas’ rise as a global destination for sports and mega‑events requires facilities capable of handling today’s traffic and future growth.
