Several U.S. banks are limiting third-party AI-agent access after unauthorized agents were found in some customer accounts. The restrictions do not mean every bank named detected an attempted account entry. Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase and Morgan Stanley are among the institutions tightening controls on outside agents. The banks named in connection with the restrictions did not all detect an agent trying to reach a customer account. JPMorgan Chase has already barred third-party services from signing in with customers’ bank credentials , though connectors may still provide some account information in read-only form.
