Trinity Capital’s Q3 Investment Income Rises 30% to $98.4 Million

Trinity Capital Inc. (NYSE: TRIN), a business development company, recorded $98.388 million in total investment income for the quarter ended Sept. 30, a 30.2% increase from $75.550 million a year earlier. Net investment income (NII) rose 34.9% to $49.867 million from $36.966 million. NII was $0.52 per basic share, unchanged from the year-earlier quarter. Weighted-average basic shares outstanding increased to 95,111,706 from 71,467,831. The net increase in net assets resulting from operations was $0.49 per share, a separate measure from NII per share. The unchanged per-share NII came as both total NII and the average basic share count increased.
