Tesla’s second-generation Roadster demonstration on Oct. 16 paired extreme stunts with a delivery target that has moved to 2028, eight years beyond the previously stated 2020 goal. The display featured the car driving upside down, performing airborne flips and reaching a shown 0-to-100 kph time of 0.81 seconds. Attendees received earplugs before the demonstrations. For the inverted run, a rear fan pulled air from beneath the car to create downforce of about twice the force of gravity. Cold-gas thrusters developed in cooperation with SpaceX powered the airborne maneuvers.
