South Korea’s KOSPI Closes Nearly 4% Lower as SK Hynix Falls 4.22%

South Korea’s KOSPI closed nearly 4% lower on Oct. 20, while SK Hynix fell 4.22%, after an intraday snapshot showed the index down 2% and the chipmaker down 4%. Samsung Electronics was down nearly 2% in that earlier snapshot, putting its loss close to the index’s intraday decline and well below SK Hynix’s. At that point, SK Hynix’s drop was about twice the KOSPI’s, while Samsung’s was roughly in line with the index. The close widened the KOSPI’s decline to nearly twice its earlier 2% loss.
