Photon Bridge has raised €10 million to develop laser sources for connections among artificial intelligence chips, targeting a data-center bottleneck as growing AI systems require processors to exchange more data. The Eindhoven, Netherlands, company is developing lasers that supply light for optical connections inside data centers. The financing was co-led by the Amadeus APEX Technology Fund and 360 Capital. Existing investors Innovation Industries, Faber and Brabant Development Agency (BOM) also increased their investments. As AI systems grow, moving data between processors can limit their performance.
