This upgrade, pivotal for Solana’s network, is expected to enhance consensus efficiency, significantly reducing finality time from approximately 12.8 seconds to 150 milliseconds. The migration is part of Solana’s ongoing efforts to improve its blockchain infrastructure, with the mainnet activation scheduled for epoch 1064 on October 21, 2026.
