Algorand said Saturday, Oct. 17, that its mainnet had processed more than 2.7 million transactions with post-quantum signatures, while parts of consensus still rely on classical cryptography as the network works toward broader quantum resilience. The count refers to transactions signed with post-quantum technology. Algorand had reported crossing 1 million such transactions on Sept. 17, with commemorative Falcon-signed NFTs accounting for a significant share of that earlier activity. Native Falcon-1024 accounts went live on Algorand’s mainnet in Aug. 2026, allowing users to authorize transactions with post-quantum signatures. The feature is supported through SDKs, AlgoKit and Pera Wallet.
