Solana Foundation’s Shanghai Event Cancelled Without Warning On Day Of Launch

The Solana Foundation’s “Solana Accelerate China 2026” event in Shanghai was called off at short notice on the morning of October 16, Wu Blockchain reported. No reason for the cancellation has been given. Some registered attendees said they waited about 90 minutes at the venue and were still refused entry. Organisers sent an apology email to participants at 12:00 p.m. local time but did not explain what had happened. The event was meant to be one of the foundation’s main outreach efforts to developers and builders in mainland China, where crypto trading and mining have been banned since 2021.
