Visa, BILL and Billtrust Launch Live AI Agent Invoice Payment Pilot

Visa, BILL and Billtrust launched a live pilot Oct. 20 that lets an AI agent complete approved business invoice payments through supplier portals, testing a way to reduce manual payment entry. The pilot is processing transactions involving participating BILL buyers and Billtrust suppliers. It addresses a step that can remain after invoice approval: entering payment information in a supplier’s portal. BILL’s Payment Agent carries out the buyer’s approved instructions using tokenized card credentials. Visa’s Trusted Agent Protocol lets Billtrust authenticate the agent at its portal without an additional agent login.
