SK Hynix shares fell more than 12% on Thursday, Oct. 15, reaching their lowest level since April 27 as losses widened during the session. The move extended an earlier 10% decline and put the South Korean company’s shares at a low unseen for nearly six months. SK Hynix is a major global memory-chip maker. The selloff came amid weakness across South Korea’s stock market. The KOSPI benchmark fell 9% intraday after an earlier 7% decline, while Samsung Electronics shares were down more than 11%.
