U.S. Semiconductor Shares Rally as Intel Gains More Than 6%; SK hynix Rises 6%

U.S. semiconductor shares climbed on Oct. 19, with Intel gaining more than 6% and SK hynix rising 6% as the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index advanced 3.43% in intraday trading. The index stood at 1,151 points at 11:47 a.m. ET (15:47 UTC). Intel rose 6.05%, while SK hynix gained 6%. Lam Research was up 6.03%, Micron Technology added 5.35%, and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. climbed 3.48%. The index’s 3.43% advance trailed each of the five individual stock gains. Intel posted the largest increase, 2.62 percentage points above the benchmark, while Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.
