Rapport Therapeutics' RAP-219 Meets Phase 2 Goals in Bipolar Mania Trial

Rapport Therapeutics, Inc.'s experimental drug RAP-219 met the primary and prespecified secondary goals in a U.S. Phase 2 trial for acute bipolar I mania, though treatment discontinuation was higher than with placebo. After three weeks, the modeled decline on the Young Mania Rating Scale was 15.4 points for RAP-219 and 12.3 points for placebo. The 3.1-point difference favored RAP-219 (p=0.045). A separate clinician-rated measure of mania severity also favored the drug, with a 0.4-point difference (p=0.024). The randomized, double-blind study enrolled 253 adults, who received treatment during a 21-day inpatient period.
