Google Cloud Power Event Hits Revolut; U.K. Customers Report Bank Outages

Google Cloud identified a power event in its London region as the cause of a disruption that affected Revolut’s cryptocurrency trading and other services. Customers of Lloyds and HSBC also reported outages, but a link between those bank problems and the cloud event was not established. Google Cloud identified the affected location as its europe-west2 region. It said the power event had been mitigated, while engineers continued working on elevated errors and intermittent network failures. The company apologized and suggested customers move affected workloads to another available zone or region.
