Judge Francis Mathew of New Mexico on Wednesday, October 21, ordered Meta Platforms ( META ) to pay $25 billion, the largest financial penalty the company has ever faced, after a jury found that Facebook repeatedly misled consumers about privacy protections and its handling of personal information.
