TeraWulf announced Nov. 5 that Google will provide credit support for lease obligations tied to Anthropic’s planned Kentucky data center, helping the project seek long-term debt financing for a roughly $19 billion lease. The 20-year lease, signed in July, covers about 401 megawatts (MW) of IT load at the Justified data center project. Google’s backing applies to certain lease obligations; it is not a direct payment of the lease’s roughly $19 billion value. The support is intended to help TeraWulf secure long-term project debt. TeraWulf also signed an engineering, procurement and construction agreement with Fluor for the Kentucky project.
