EQT Agrees to Buy Range Resources in $50 Billion All-Stock Deal

EQT Corporation agreed Monday to acquire Range Resources in a $50 billion all-stock deal, a combination that would create the largest natural gas producer in the United States. The combined company would produce more than 9 Bcfe per day. That output would put it ahead of all other U.S. natural gas producers. Range shares rose 15.3% in premarket trading Monday after the agreement was announced. The deal would bring EQT and Range’s production together under one company, with the combined business expected to lead the U.S. industry by output.
