Several X accounts associated with Ireland’s national police appear to have been compromised and used to promote cryptocurrency, putting crypto promotions on profiles followed for official traffic and safety updates. The accounts include @GardaTraffic, which has about 600,000 followers and continues to identify itself as belonging to An Garda Síochána, Ireland’s national police service. The profile carries traffic and road safety updates. A second account, @GardaInfo, has nearly 300,000 followers. It displays no personal information, although older posts from An Garda Síochána remain visible there.
