Employee-directed interactive agents at Anthropic logged runtime equal to six times their handlers’ estimated work hours in August, as junior workers’ share of technical hiring fell and measured output rose across the company. Junior employees made up 14% of technical department staff, down from 21% in early 2025. They accounted for 9% of technical hires, compared with 27% previously. Technical hiring continued to grow in absolute terms; those percentages describe shares and do not establish that the number of junior hires fell.
