Some users in Taiwan were redirected from Coinbase’s main website to a notice citing a court order on Oct. 14, raising questions about access to a major U.S.-facing crypto platform under local election rules. The first notices appeared at about 2:49 a.m. ET (06:49 UTC), or 2:49 p.m. Taipei time. The notice cited Taiwan’s Public Officials Election and Recall Act and New Taipei District Court case number 115年度聲扣字第55號. Taiwan-based testing also reproduced the redirect. The court order itself was not available for review, so its scope and procedural context were not established. The reported restriction involved coinbase.com.
