Trading in Tesla-linked crypto derivatives surged after Elon Musk unveiled a flying Roadster prototype illustrating how cryptocurrency exchanges that operate around the clock are increasingly becoming the first places investors react to corporate news when traditional stock markets are closed. Hourly trading volume in Hyperliquid’s Tesla (TSLA) perpetual futures contract jumped to $47 million from $2.8 million following the October 15 2026 demonstration according to reports. The contract rose ~5% to roughly $378 compared with Tesla’s Nasdaq closing price of $362.44 before the event.
