Transfers of less than 0.01 Bitcoin (BTC) account for nearly 80% of Bitcoin transactions, making small transfers prominent in network activity without showing how often BTC is spent on purchases. The figure measures the number of transactions below the 0.01 BTC threshold. It does not mean those transactions carried nearly 80% of the Bitcoin moved across the network. A transfer below the threshold counts once regardless of its exact size, just as a larger transfer counts once in the overall transaction total. Transaction size also does not identify a transfer’s purpose.
