Bank of Ghana Governor Dr. JP Asiama said Ghana must balance virtual-asset innovation with financial stability and trust, while pointing to potential uses in payments and financing, at a summit in Accra Monday, Nov. 2. At the Africa Virtual Assets Summit 2026, Asiama said virtual assets and tokenization may support financial inclusion, cross-border payments and new financing opportunities. “Trust is not the opposite of innovation; it is what allows innovation to grow,” Asiama said. Ghana passed virtual-asset legislation in December 2025, and its regulatory framework includes stablecoins.
