Agent economy data points show growth, but payment metrics remain noisy

Agentic commerce is moving onto enterprise roadmaps, but the payment data remain difficult to interpret, according to Fireblocks' Nov. 3, 2026 analysis. The report says x402 has processed more than 196 million transactions across 12 chains and settled more than $42 million since launch, while also warning that public blockchain records blend routine automation, speculative bot activity and genuine agentic spend. Fireblocks, citing agenteconomy.to and Chainalysis observations, said more than half of x402's lifetime transactions came during a two-month burst in late 2025 tied to PING, a token minted through x402.
