Zipcoin is shutting down after its code repository was compromised, a breach that may have affected credentials and private keys. The team could not find a secure way to continue operating. The meme coin, built around a Vitalik novel narrative, said Railway notified it on Oct. 21 that the project’s full codebase had been breached. Zipcoin said it tried to move or rotate credentials but could not find a workable operating plan. The announcement did not confirm that credentials or private keys had been accessed; it said they may have been affected.
