Zelenskyy Says Starlink and Starshield Speed Limits Remain

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Friday, Oct. 23, speed limits on Starlink and Starshield remained in force, despite President Donald Trump’s statement a day earlier that SpaceX chief Elon Musk had restored service. Zelenskyy made the statement in an online address posted at 2:51 p.m. ET (18:51 UTC). He said the limits remained and speeds had not been restored. Presidential adviser Serhii Beskrestnov said Starshield’s service package remained capped at 160 kph (100 mph). He also described connectivity problems for helicopters traveling faster than that threshold.
