XRP reserves at exchange addresses totaled 11.81 billion XRP on Saturday, Oct. 17, while Binance's XRP derivatives open interest fell 15.8%, putting elevated exchange balances alongside a pullback in open positions. The reserve reading ranked in the 99th percentile of the prior 365 days. Binance open interest was $453 million on Oct. 17, down from $538.1 million on Oct. 4. The figures cover different measures: the reserve balance counts XRP held at exchange addresses, while open interest tracks positions in Binance's XRP derivatives market. Binance recorded $25.7 million in XRP long liquidations over Oct. 7-8.
