Toronto-based Xatoms says it has more than six major projects coming up, while founder and CEO Diana Virgovicova says the company needs more lab work and support to determine how to manufacture additional materials. “We have more than six major projects coming up,” Virgovicova said. She did not name the projects or give their timelines. Xatoms says its software uses artificial intelligence and quantum chemistry to screen thousands of potential photocatalysts and predict their performance before lab testing. The company says the materials are designed to activate under sunlight or visible LED light, generating reactive oxygen species that attack contaminants.
