X Names Michael O’Herlihy as Head of Safety for Platform and AI Systems

X appointed Michael O’Herlihy as its head of safety, a role covering user and brand protections across the platform and its AI systems. His responsibilities also include protecting free expression and making X’s safety work more transparent. O’Herlihy is scheduled to attend the Brand & AI Safety Summit in New York on Tuesday, Nov. 10. He is expected to discuss how open systems and controls visible to users relate to platform safety and advertiser confidence.
