U.S. spot bitcoin continued to trade below offshore markets. Institutional venue activity increased, but the price signal has not yet turned to a clear buying premium. As of Oct. 12 at 11:04 UTC, the Coinbase premium stood at -0.116%. The series moved from -0.0754% on Oct. 8 to -0.1099% on Oct. 9, narrowed to -0.0935% on Oct. 10, then fell again to -0.1132% on Oct. 11 and -0.1017% on Oct. 12. A negative reading means U.S. bitcoin spot prices are cheaper than offshore prices. The discount suggests U.S.-side buying pressure remains weak.
