U.S. semiconductor, storage, optical communications and crypto-linked stocks fell in Friday premarket trading, with Intel down 25.49%, extending losses across risk-sensitive U.S. equities before the opening bell. Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) fell 6.80%, while Nvidia (NVDA) declined 2.88%. Storage stocks also dropped: STX fell 5.35%, WDC 5.94%, SNDK 4.27% and MU 4.17%. Intel’s decline came amid a fourth-quarter outlook far below expectations, an explosion at an Israeli factory, weak PC demand and constrained AI chip supply. Crypto-linked shares also fell.
