Gate founder 韩林 has outlined a proposed Vault custody design that divides key control among three parties, preventing any one of them from moving funds alone. The design would place one key share on a user’s device, one with Gate and one with a disaster-recovery provider. The complete private key would not be kept in a single location. Withdrawals would face a 48-hour delay, during which users could freeze a transfer. If a user lost a device or forgot a backup password, Gate and the recovery provider could help restore access after identity verification, 韩林 said.
