Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission has received no applications to establish crypto ETFs, even as several asset managers have approached it about launching products under rules that took effect Oct. 16. The regulator said it is too early to determine whether the first products will receive approval by the end of 2026. Timing depends on applicants’ readiness, regulatory review and investor-protection requirements. The rules open a path for locally listed spot ETFs tied to Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH). Thailand’s ETF framework took effect Oct. 16 . Thai investors already have Bitcoin exposure through funds linked to overseas ETFs.
