Tesla is tentatively aiming for about Q2 2027 to bring the first customer-owned vehicles into its Robotaxi fleet, a step that would extend the service beyond cars Tesla operates itself. The target depends on software and fleet integration, while details for a wider owner program remain unannounced. At Tesla’s Oct. 21 third-quarter earnings call, Ashok Elluswamy, the company’s director of AI, said Tesla plans to release V15 software to customers soon. “We suspect somewhere around Q2 next year,” Elluswamy said of when the first customer vehicles could join.
