Tesla set its next Roadster event for an online broadcast at 8:55 p.m. ET Thursday, Oct. 15 (00:55 UTC Friday, Oct. 16), nearly nine years after the next-generation car first appeared. Tesla moved the event from Oct. 1 after citing a severe-weather forecast and the presentation’s outdoor-only format. The change was covered in an earlier update on the Roadster postponement . The event announcement gives no production or customer-delivery dates. Tesla first presented the next-generation Roadster during its Nov. 16, 2017, event for the Semi.
