Telefónica Tech Joins Cosine’s UK Sovereign AI Development Project

Telefónica Tech UK&I is helping Cosine shape a sovereign AI model for sensitive UK work, bringing customer use cases and security requirements into a project with a 2027 commercial target. Telefónica Tech UK&I announced the collaboration June 8, with a role in defining priority use cases, governance requirements and security standards for UK organizations. Cosine is developing Lumen Sovereign for sensitive and regulated work. By Oct. 2, training had advanced through several stages on Isambard-AI, a supercomputer based at the University of Bristol’s Bristol Centre for Supercomputing. Organizational feedback was informing training, deployment targets and evaluations.
