On Thursday, the network kicked off a non-binding, seven-day poll asking STRK holders whether Starknet should explore breaking away from Ethereum and becoming an independent layer-1 blockchain — all in the name of quantum security. The poll gives voters three options: back further research into the layer-1 transition, oppose it outright, or sit neutral until more details come in. Voting closes October 22, and results go public shortly after.
