Spotify began rolling out paid podcast memberships on Oct. 20 in 34 markets, including the United States, giving eligible creators a way to earn recurring revenue from listeners while keeping 90% of membership earnings. Creators can set different prices and decide what subscribers receive. Options include early episode access, fewer ads, and bonus audio or video. Listeners can find membership offers on a podcast’s Spotify page. Subscriptions are purchased on the web, and members can access exclusive content after subscribing. A show must be hosted on Spotify for Creators or Megaphone and have at least three published episodes.
