The market update came at 7:36 p.m. ET Thursday (00:36 UTC Friday), shortly after the index reopened. The KOSPI had triggered a circuit breaker before trading restarted. Its decline narrowed to 6.8% following the pause, and the losses in Samsung and SK Hynix also eased to around 7%. The move put the benchmark and both technology stocks in a similar range, with each still sharply lower.
