The Solana network has hit a significant milestone in its quest to overcome its early hurdles, successfully going 1,000 days without a network-wide outage. This feat stands in stark contrast to Solana's past, when the blockchain experienced some notable network disruptions. One of the more significant outages occurred in September 2021, when a spike in bot traffic from Grape Protocol IDO transactions led to a surge in transactions that overwhelmed validators and hindered consensus, resulting in a roughly 17-hour network outage.
