Samsung has expanded its digital wallet functionality by incorporating support for the stablecoin USDC on the Solana blockchain. This new feature is accessible to approximately 82 million compatible Samsung Galaxy devices in the United States, though it excludes residents of New York. The initiative is facilitated by Bastion, which provides custody infrastructure, and Coinbase , acting as a sub-custodian. The integration is a significant step in mainstreaming Solana-based dollar transactions, embedding them into a widely-used consumer payments platform. This development is seen as a positive indicator for Solana, as it could potentially increase the demand for SOL, Solana’s native cryptocurrency.
