Russia’s military said its air defenses intercepted more than 1,200 drones overnight, while Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin put the number aimed at the capital region at 613. The Russian military also listed drone activity in Bryansk, Belgorod, Kursk, Kaluga, Tula, Smolensk, Lipetsk, Voronezh, Tver, Oryol, Ryazan, Vladimir, Samara, Saratov, Penza and Rostov regions. The nationwide interception figure and Sobyanin’s count cover different areas. Restrictions at Domodedovo, Vnukovo and Zhukovsky airports were lifted by morning. The overnight activity came as Moscow hosted more than 22 foreign leaders for a Russia-Africa summit, with President Putin participating.
