Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev said that ongoing uncertainty about long-term US tokenization rules could discourage investors from allocating significant capital to tokenized markets, despite the Securities and Exchange Commission opening a limited window for onchain stock trading in 2024. During Robinhood’s third-quarter earnings call, Tenev welcomed the SEC’s innovation exemption, a temporary allowance designed to foster new forms of onchain stock trading. However, he emphasized that this measure alone may not provide investors with the lasting assurance required to commit major assets to tokenized products.
